Walking through cross time, they wanted me to forget.
I don't know you but I remember you.
I'm sorry about today and I don't know about tomorrow.
But thank you for yesterday.
Sometimes when we're so caught up looking back to the past, we can't look forward to the future.

Watched "Whisper of The Heart" by Hayao Miyazaki and still blown away by how visually reminiscent the Benlie first meeting in Ben 10 Returns was of certain scenes. Then I remembered the whole girl trying to catch up with her more accomplished love interest who already has a set direction in life storyline and it brought chills to my spine, and much squees. Also partly inspired by Amy and Rory's love story in Doctor Who. Hopefully I'll color this one day.
Again, you manage to make a sketch look better than the official concept art of Omniverse. I love how you established the shot of Julie meeting up with Ben and the lead up to their embrace. At the same time, the scene of Ben walking away with his redesigned partners is really bittersweet considering some comments I've read from Wyatt about not having plans for Julie in the new series.
Thank you! I've always wanted to make this comic a little longer, just to actually reflect that bit of news you mentioned. I wanted it specifically to be a reference on any attempts to put her on a bus and make it seem a little more awesome than One More Day ver 2.0. But you know, if I have time I'll draw more.
Well, I think this comic is fine just the way it is and yeah, I am monumentally bummed by the news. Call me overly sensitive, but I always have a hard time accepting break-ups in canon (attribute it to my poor social life), though with Julie's poor treatment in "Ultimate Alien" I guess I should have seen it coming.
The message boards haven't made it much easier, either, as some comments I've read on the subject make it feel like the main reason for giving her the ax is to keep Ben single so the writers can always have him open to flirt with new girls for some cheap sexual tension (the same vibe I got from Jennifer Nocturne and Eunice). Of course, the efforts to pander to G1 fanboys probably play a big role, too, but overall it just adds to my list of reasons to avoid the new series.
I love that description: tragic beauty. I like thinking of it that way. It's just so enticing to use the whole Omniverse debacle for my creative juices. I think we all want to do.
I've always loved the concept of it and was so excited about the idea of Derailed when you told me about it. It's so beautiful. You should take care of yourself first and foremost though. What happened with the wrist? Hopefully you get well soon.

The sense of lost nostalgia is almost what I've got planned with Derailed (coming along slowly, mostly because of wrist pain).
